THE 17TH ANNUAL WEEKEND CLASSIC EVENT

Held on October 31 – November 2, 2008 at the beautiful, historic Ojai Valley Inn and Spa, STOP CANCER’s 17th Annual Weekend Classic reflected the spirit of Halloween with a tented “Carnival” featuring black and orange décor galore, gorgeous costumes, unique masks,
Zoltar the fortune teller, classic games and a holiday barbecue.

Named The ”HalloWeekend” by Co-Chairs, Wendy and Bruce Smiley and their Committee, the event also presented a “Shocktail” reception, Gala Dinner, magnificent Glass Sculpture auction, Live and Silent auctions, spooky movie screening, bridge tournament with instruction by world-famous bridge guru Eddie Kantar, mah jongg and poker and spa activities.

Among the Weekend highlights were the opportunity drawing for a 2000 Lexus LS 460,won by Michael Landau, and the second year of participation by renowned bridge instructor, Eddie Kantar. The Saturday gala featured the music of Tommy Tassi and The Authentics. The Weekend closed with a Sunday Brunch and presentation of Tournament Awards.
